The Medication List

Medications and supplements have become a normal part of our life, and while most of us focus on the positive effects that they bring, they can have equally negative effects. For this reason, one of the most important things we can provide our healthcare providers is an accurate medication list.

Add to this the complexity of different doses and timing, which can change the effects of each medication, and you have quite a project on your hands, even with just a few medications.

This article details one way of tracking medications, and is a great starting point. You will find the best method that works for you. Be sure to check out this article’s sister, how to set up your medications, which walks through the physical handling of medications.

  1. Make a clean organized list
  2. Sample template
  3. Group your meds

Typical medication lists are tough to read and aren’t a practical quick reference.

The first thing to do is simplify the list. Copy the information from your office or hospital list to a cleaner list. Feel free to use our medication list template or make your own.

Make sure you’ve gathered all of your medications and supplements in one place, and separate them by how often you’re supposed to take them.
